The two other candidates were William Crawford and Henry Clay. Crawford, the secretary of the Treasury during the presidential term of James Monroe, seemed desperate for votes. Martin Van Buren, a political influence from New York, supported Crawford. James Madison, the fourth president of the United States, actually made Crawford the candidate of the fading Virginia Dynasty which h!ad contro lled the presidency for twenty-four years thanks mostly in part to a working agreement with New York. I think Van Buren supported Crawford because of the respect that he had for this fading dynasty. In May of 1824, a Cumberland planter, Alfred Bach, visiting Washington, sent John Overton a disturbing account of Jacksons prospects. Henry Randolph Storrs, a clay man from Utica, exclaimed that the only way Adams could get New York was through the support of the Crawford people. And let them do it if they dare. Clay knew that he couldnt win. It was between Jackson and Adams, and Jackson was on the verge of gaining the presidency. The only way Adams could win was to get votes from either Crawford of Clay. CONCLUSION It is not a doubt that national unity is very important in our country. The importance of creating and maintaining unity and integration cannot be compromised. National unity and integration is vital for Malaysian if they want to live in peace and harmony. It is the one and only thing that keeps all of us bound together, allowing us to live with one another in peace and harmony. National unity is, of course, possible and achievable but it can only be obtained step by step. As it goes by the saying, Rome wan’t built in a day. The body sections are the head, thorax, and abdomen. The head contains a relatively large brain. It also had the eyes, antennae, and the mandibles (which are shaped differently depending on the ant). The antennae are what an ant uses to smell, touch, taste, and detect movement. The next part of the ants body is the thorax. This part of the body has small holes that allow ants uses to breath through. Another opening produces a chemical that kills germs. On this body section there are six legs and small claws that allow ants to carry up to 20 times there own weight. The last body section is the abdomen. This section leaves trails of chemicals, which are also made in this section, that are used to communicate. Each type of ant leaves there own kind of chemical. The chemical tells other ants where food is, it lets ants know that there are enemies arou nd, it tells aunts where the nest is, and many other things. Ants have been around since the dinosaurs. Scientist feel that a long time ago aunts began to produce babies in large amounts. The babies would grow up and live near by; soon the babies and their families wold come and live with the parents forming colonies. A colony is an organized community. All ants in a colony live and work to care for the one queens offspring. The colonies inhabitants are divided into different jobs. There are workers who find food, nurses, the female ants, who care for the young and the food, and there is the queen, who is the mother of the entire colony.
